The season is more important than a single impression.
A sunny crime scene entrance does not show the entire year's lighting conditions. The impact of the surrounding building, vegetation and terrain may vary over different periods. For the purpose of the design, the crop calendar to be used should therefore also be provided. We are not looking at the same issue if the objective is a light relationship of a specified season or a changing environment of a longer operating period.
In preparation, it is worth marking the environmental elements that may cause shadow and areas whose situation may change. The placement of a future service building may, for example, lead to a new aspect. The plan shall include the existing and planned environment separately. Thus, the chosen layout can be linked not only to the current empty plot but also to the known later use status.
The need for light must be linked to the plant
The following light issues for cultivation purposes should be clarified together with the production and technical experts. The location, cover and internal system together shape the environment of the plant. The designation of a favourable orientation is therefore not a complete answer in itself. It is necessary to understand which plant, which cycle and which spatial arrangement the evaluation is preparing and what additional conditions are to be examined in the concept.
It is useful for the investor to have the various on-the-spot variants prepared for the same purpose of cultivation. One arrangement may leave more space for service and the other may create a different light position. The choice is not an automatic victory of one aspect. The advantages and limitations of the variants shall be shown separately so that they can be further coordinated on the basis of the full picture of the operation to be used.
Orientation also affects other locations
The translation or transfer of the greenhouse may change the relationship between the road, engine and utility. The light conditions should therefore not be separated from the use of the site. A more favourable position in theory may be a more difficult version to access or require other preparation. Such consequences shall be treated separately on the decision sheet, not as an additional task quietly agreed upon in the original plan.
A simple route drawing after the site has operated may help to compare. Where does the product-related traffic arrive? Where are the employees and maintenance people going? Which space remains for expansion free? The shadowy drawing and the usage drawing together are much more understandable discussion material than a general statement that a particular direction in each industrial greenhouse would be appropriate.
Attach the test limit
Experience in other climate environments presented in sources can give good questions, but do not replace local testing. The applicability of the orientation recommendation shall be checked for its own land and cultivation purpose. The summary of the preparation should therefore include the data from which the evaluation was made, which period it covers and which environmental change has been or has not been taken into account.
The reason for the choice is still useful later. If a new building is built nearby, changes the cultivation calendar or other cover will be included in the plan, you can see what needs to be reviewed. The objective is not a compass rule called finality, but a documented decision that starts from the co-understood conditions of light, use and locality, and also addresses on-site differences.
Questions to reconcile the project
- What season does the light condition under consideration belong to?
- What current and planned shielding environment is known?
- How is placement related to daily use?
