Tank construction in industrial environment: covering, connections and transfer

An industrial tank fills its task if it does not only provide the desired volume but also matches the surrounding technology. A reception device, working trunks, clearance, verifiable internal space and mounting pipe connections are required. These questions need to be clarified before the robe is manufactured, because a stump or too tight maintenance space can be improved later by a costly conversion.

Start from storage task

The form, material and details of the container shall be shaped together by the stored or treated medium, working temperature, mode of filling and emptying, and the cleaning demand. A different design is required if the container only acts as a buffer, if it needs to be completely emptied regularly or if it is also prepared for internal inspection and cleaning. The need for mixing, measurement, heating or cooling may require additional connections and mounting space.

The necessary data should be collected in a clear description of the tasks. This includes not only the nominal size but also normal and extreme operating conditions, the place of incorporation and removal, overflow or ventilation, evacuation, sampling and operator access. If they remain open, new mutilation may be created on the mantle, which may already affect the finished surface and internal fittings.

Hiding, buttocks and stiffeners

The thickness of the plate, the design of the covering and the stiffening shall be determined on the basis of the intended application. The accuracy of the cylindrical elements, the preparation of the joints and the assembly sequence together affect the ability to maintain the desired geometry. In connection with the bottom and cover, it is particularly important that the welding and testing access is maintained.

The support of the tank and the receiving fund are not a separate issue. The loads, levelling, fixing and connection to the surrounding floor shall be coordinated. When emptying and cleaning, it also counts where the liquid can safely be safely traced or accessible to the bottom environment for a subsequent inspection.

The location of the mutilation is for operation

When selecting connections, it is not enough to specify the diameter of the wire. The direction, position, height, location of the fittings and the burden of the associated pipework systems are important. The support of larger or heavier fittings or external lines shall be such that it does not take unintended use of the tank-wrap.

Loading, emptying, overflow, ventilation, instrumentation and sampling mutilation may affect each other's operation. Their location affects the dead spaces, total emptying, mixing and access. The connection of the instrument may be used if the conditions for measuring are given, while the extraction or replacement of the sensor does not require a disproportionate breakdown.

Hiding openings, controls and cleaning

The internal access shall be linked to the operational and maintenance task when designing. Before and behind the hatch, there should be sufficient space for opening and working; the handling of the lid, screws and gaskets should be checked not only in an empty workshop but also in the built-in environment. If a control pavement, ladder or podium is required, its connections and loads shall be part of the entire structure.

Cleanliness is provided by internal geometry, evacuation point, stump placement and interface access. It is worth describing how often and by what method cleaning and checking will take place before design.

On-site installation and attachment

For larger elements, the transport route, the gate size, the lifting and the mounting area limit the size of the units that can be prepared at the workshop. The order of the on-site assembly affects the working area, scaffolding and welding access. In an existing plant, the protection of the working technology and the authorised working area shall be adapted.

The position, level and actual position of the mains shall be checked before the pipework systems are connected. The connecting lines shall not be "pulled 'on the mains in any way: the trace, the supports and the bandages shall be so constructed that the mounting does not force the tank or pipework systems.

In the case of exclusions, it is particularly important to limit the receiving fund, the associated pipework systems and the electrical or instrumental work.

A well-usable industrial tank is not prepared to stand on the robe. A closed system can be considered when it can be filled, emptied, controlled, maintained and documented with the surrounding machinery.
